Neighborhood Teams

(1) The neighborhood teams are a training ground. Practice is to be structured as a class and will include instruction of competitive swimming strokes, starts, and turns. Managers are responsible for the success of the swim team at their pools and should consider swim practice an extension of the standard swim classes offered to city youth.

(2) At this level, training will focus on perfecting skills and building endurance rather then speed.

(3) Competition will consist of neighborhood meets and city championship meets.

(4) Any youth with a desire to learn and cooperate as a team member is invited to participate with only one neighborhood pool per summer. Swim team members are allowed in the pool for recreational swimming free of charge if they follow the rules for public swimming and attend practice and meets on a regular basis.

(5) There is no fee for team membership.

(6) All swimmers must submit a Parental Waiver/Permission form and birth certificate.

(7) Each swimmer is responsible for his/her own transportation to all practices and events.
